“Want to better your strength, flexibility and become zen as &!#@? Enjoy the occasional f-bomb or innuendo? You’ve come to the right place.”

So… What In The World Is ‘Rage Yoga'???

According to rageyoga.com, Rage Yoga is defined as the following:

Rage Yoga: [reyj yoh-guh] noun: A practice involving stretching, positional exercises and bad humor, with the goal of attaining good health and to become zen as {*insert profanity here*}.

….their words, not mine.

Rage Yoga encourages participants to swear freely and get their DRANK ON while posing.

OH….and listen to heavy metal music. That’s right − no peaceful, serene calming sounds here… we’re talking Black Sabbath and Metallica. (Via Cosmopolitan)

It's kinda like Beer Yoga… but better.

So much for OM…Rage Yoga's main mantra is, “f-yeah”. You can expect to be seated in Lotus Pose with your middle fingers up!

Because Rage Yoga is non-traditional in its nature, the practice has been highly criticized by some. You either love it, or you hate it.

If BASIC yoga routines make you *yawn* & roll your eyes (OR YA HAPPEN TO HAVE SOME EXTRA AGGRESSION) this emerging practice may be just what the doctor ordered…literally.

The inventor of the Rage Yoga practice created it after a long-term relationship breakup.

UGH. I feel you, girl.

So many emotions.

So many reasons to curse, laugh, cry, be upset, and be angry.

As Beyonce would say, “Middle fingers up, put them hands high. Wave it in his face, tell him, boy, bye.”

Lindsay-Marie Istace of Calgary, Canada also decided to make this class for those who “who want the benefits of yoga but never quite fit in conventional classes.

AS IF WE NEEDED ANOTHER REASON TO MOVE TO CANADA.

JK.

WE DONT HAVE TO MOVE TO CANADA BECAUSE LINDSAY STARTED AN EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE TO FUND ONLINE CLASSES.

Basically, you can just start yelling and screaming and flipping out in the comfort of your own home.

Doing yoga from home is SUPER convenient considering some of the main reasons people don’t keep up with their yoga practice is because…

Yoga studio classes can be crazy expensive $$$$$

The studio is out of the way in the middle of nowhere or in a huge city. (so now I have to pay for parking, too.)

Yoga class times always seem to be inconvenient. (like at the crack of dawn…no thanks.)

Time is money, money is time.

Another reason doing yoga from home rocks: As we all know… *~Yogis~* can be annoying.

This is a known truth. Remember, we just have to accept what we cannot change. 😉

Don’t take my word for it… here are 15 reasons why yogis are the ABSOLUTE WORST.

But now, yogis can LET THEIR FREAK FLAG FLY.

With Rage Yoga, you’ll want to be one of them. You'll become a yoga-practicing, self-loving, ray of sunshine.

Accept your fate.

Maybe get a new pair of Lululemon yoga pants while you’re at it.

But if you turn Vegan don’t blame me if your friends give you the backhand.

Hypothetically, of course, during their Rage Yoga session.

Flip the bird, get honest with your emotions, scream, cry, and let loose with a Rage Yoga session.

If you happen to be near Calgary Canada, head over to Dickens Pub where Istace's practice sessions are held.

If you live in the US or another country, we'll just have to stay pent up with anger…for now. (Istace has plans to bring the practice to the United States in the future!)
